Kumon develops my capacity in problem solving even in real-life situations.

My journey with Kumon from enrolment to programme completion has taught me some important principles in life. For example, I have understood that being consistent in whatever you do is vital. Doing even a little everyday can be more effective than doing everything in one go. It also trains me to be a disciplined person as I need to do my worksheets daily without being told. Most importantly, I have learnt to learn as Kumon teaches me to be proactive in the way I think and develops my capacity in problem solving even in real-life situations.

Kumon students usually start their learning at a low starting point, but I do not find it a disadvantage because I know it helps to build my confidence and my foundation to excel in the later levels.

In many ways, my studies have benefited from the Kumon programme. I have gained a strong foundation in Mathematics and this has also fuelled my interest in the subject. It helped me perform well in many Maths-related competitions. Even in my college studies, the knowledge and skills that I have learnt from Kumon have made my acquisition of Maths and Specialist Maths a smooth-sailing journey. The formulas and topics covered in Kumon are relevant to my college studies and the rigorous worksheet exercises helped me to complete Maths assignments with speed and precision.

My dream is to be an environmental engineer because I have a strong moral conviction and I am very worried about global warming and other environmental problems brought about by mankind’s activities. I wish to be in the frontline of this crusade by creating the technologies to solve environmental problems. This way, I can contribute more effectively to the society.
